Primary School catchment for Shell Cove include Shellharbour Public School in Shellharbour Village and Shell Cove Public School set in a peaceful position overlooking bush reserves and landscaped parks. Shell Cove Public School offers multiple outdoor play areas including a basketball court, playground and expansive grassed areas. The school also offers other facilities including interactive whiteboards and classroom video conferencing as well as various specialty programs such as literacy, performing arts and gifted programs.

There are also a variety of high schools located in close proximity to Shell Cove. Shellharbour Anglican College is located across the road from the western entrance of Shell Cove while a selection of other high schools are just a short drive away.

Tertiary Education is also within easy reach with Shellharbour TAFE just a short 5km drive away and The University of Wollongong is only 25km from Shell Cove.
